Read on for key insights and ways to enhance your own L&D professional experience.
Supporting the business vs driving the business
Where is your organization’s L&D today, and where do you think it should be in the future?
This question tapped into the core of the type of impact L&D professionals can make at their companies, starting with digital adoption excellence. As organizations are rapidly adjusting to a more digitalized workplace, learning and training experiences need to support and keep up with new software and company-wide digital transformations.
Driving Strategic Outcomes is a strategic L&D function that helps enable a company’s near term results, as well as their long-term direction. The focus is on shaping the desired culture, fostering new ways of thinking, developing new behaviors, and driving strategic opportunities.
Supporting the Business focuses on L&D building skills and learning best practices that support the company’s tactical goals.
During the masterclass, a poll was taken from the over 70 attendees to get an idea about what real professionals are experiencing on the ground. When asked, “How would you generally describe your organization’s L&D offerings?” 58% of people said that they support the business, whereas 42% stated they were more focused on driving training outcomes.
L&D meets Digital Adoption Platform professional
During the class, Steffaney Zohrabyan from T-Mobile for Business shared her journey as an L&D professional and how she was first introduced to WalkMe and DAP while getting her master’s in learning technology. Since then her role has expanded. Steffaney discovered that by using WalkMe, her users have become more efficient and engaged and she has a seat at the table as a strategic partner.
As L&D moves into the digital sphere and the dependency on face-to-face instruction decreases, digital adoption solutions needs are growing. With that is the career of Digital Adoption Platform professionals, a key member and team in an organization that implements digital adoption solutions to increase engagement, usage, and learning.
If you haven’t heard by now, WalkMe launched the Digital Adoption Institute which provides unique certification for those looking to enhance their career or find a new highly sought after profession.
Putting users first
The field of Learning & Development is evolving rapidly. Professionals who are not only well-versed in digital adoption solutions, but put their users’ needs first, can ensure that they are really standing out in the L&D crowd.
