WalkMe 2020: A Year Like No Other

2020 has been unlike any other year we’ve experienced.

COVID-19’s intense global impact is still being felt, and while there is a light at the end of the tunnel, individuals, governments and businesses are indelibly changed.

Technology has been a guiding force, and here at WalkMe, we’ve recalibrated and reimagined how to connect more people to DAP in 2020 and beyond.

Let’s take a trip through WalkMe’s 2020 whirlwind of year: 

Realize Live

Realize was slated to be WalkMe’s first premiere digital adoption event – the venue was secured, the speakers lined up and registration was growing each day. Planned for months and set to take place in San Francisco on March 10-11th, the onset of COVID-19 turned Realize into WalkMe’s first virtual digital adoption event, Realize Live.

Within a week, the WalkMe team hustled and created an online event that spanned across 8 time zones with over 3,000 digital adoption enthusiasts in attendance across multiple broadcasts. Live from both Tel Aviv and San Francisco, the level of coordination and determination to create a high-caliber and thought-provoking event was always at the forefront. Topics were changed to address the new realities of COVID-19, and respected industry leaders rose to the occasion with valuable insights on digital adoption and business continuity.

Realize Live set the tone for more online events to follow and raised the standard of how other fellow SaaS companies conducted virtual gatherings. 

Workstation – WFH solution

When COVID-19 struck, WalkMe sprang into action to offer customers a solution to the sudden shift to remote work.
Workstation sits on employees’ desktops and allows them to:

• train and onboard within the flow of work
  
• keep employees engaged and informed with timely company updates regardless of which application they are using
  
• simplify self-service with customizable content hubs including automation capabilities that minimize the need to open an IT support ticket
  
• gain visibility into software usage so management can understand how applications are being used, what needs improvement and how to maximize employee productivity and ease of use.

Workstation made such an impact that it was awarded the “Overall RemoteTech Solution of the Year” by the Tech Breakthrough organization, a leading global market intelligence and recognition platform for today’s most competitive categories of technology.

Telehealth & DAP

WalkMe had the privilege to work closely with health organizations on the frontlines directly confronting COVID-19. As the telehealth industry grows and the need for digital solutions becomes more pressing, healthcare organizations are turning to DAP to accommodate users of all different ages and technological backgrounds.

Considering that 1 in 3 physicians are over the age of 55, health systems and applications need to be easy to use. DAP streamlines software usage with clearly displayed instructions within the app and automated processes; allowing healthcare providers focus on what’s really important – saving lives.

Modernizing Medicine, a telehealth SaaS company, participated in the Forrester Total Economic Impact study (more on that later!) and reported that after implementing DAP, “There was a 50% reduction in calls for product support, which could result in a reduction of effectively eight in headcount.” 

Digital Adoption Platform (DAP) Professionals 

WalkMe has given rise to a new role within prestigious companies – Digital Adoption Platform professionals. These talented individuals own and manage WalkMe across their software ecosystems, and are pivotal to software rollouts and implementation, training and onboarding and user experience.

On July 28th and 29th, WalkMe hosted Elevate, the first DAP professionals event that provided educational resources and celebrated the work that DAP professionals are pioneering each day.

Elevate also kicked off DAP Professionals Appreciation Day which will take place each year on July 29th. The annual event is meant to encourage DAP professional visibility and recognize them either in person or via social media, for all the amazing work they do.

Digital Adoption Institute

Since WalkMe takes the profession of DAP professionals so seriously, in August we launched the Digital Adoption Institute. Prior to the establishment of the Institute, only WalkMe customers and top tier consulting firms with established digital adoption practices could receive DAP certification from WalkMe.

Those interested in deepening their DAP knowledge, or individuals looking for a new career path, can choose from three certification focus areas that cover the spectrum of digital adoption – strategic, tactical, and technical.

The Digital Adoption Institute features a job board where WalkMe aggregates the hottest DAP professional jobs in one place. The Institute also offers scholarships for professionals who’ve recently been furloughed or lost their jobs due to COVID-19. The future is shining bright as WalkMe’s Digital Adoption Institute spearheads the educational training behind this innovative new profession.

CIOs 2020 and Beyond

CIOs and IT leaders have seen a dramatic evolution of their roles this year. As more companies turn to tech solutions to deal with remote work realities, IT leaders are wearing different hats within organizations and playing more integral roles.

WalkMe wanted to tap into this new professional CIO landscape, and in partnership with Constellation Research, surveyed over 100 Fortune 500 CIOs culminating in the CIO Outlook for 2021 Report. The comprehensive report released in November includes current and future CIO challenges and how CIOs are defining success as they enter 2021. 

Forrester Total Economic Impact Study

368% ROI equals how much ROI WalkMe yields when implemented. This impressive number comes from Forrester, a leading analyst firm, who performed a Total Economic Impact (TEI) study, a rigorous cost and benefit analysis of WalkMe’s DAP. 

Forrester interviewed four WalkMe customers, aggregated their experiences, and combined the results into a single composite organization. The study calculated the quantified effect of WalkMe DAP on a range of business needs. 

Full of striking statistics, the Forrester TEI study concluded that the value of WalkMe continues to grow the more it is implemented. When companies invest more in a digital adoption strategy, their ROI and the value of DAP increases with time.
